We can use the Backup utility to backup Windows XP.
support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;320820The Backup utility comes with Windows XP Pro. It is not included in the default installation of Windows XP Home Edition. If the system if Windows XP Home, to use the Backup Utility, we must install it manually.
Install Backup from the CD-ROM in Windows XP Home Edition
